First Sweater

I'm currently nearly finished with Hew, but I've run out of yarn!  While I pause to regroup and make some decisions (whether to frog the entire thing or just the collar and reknit the collar in a contrast yarn) I've been looking at other sweater patterns on Ravelry.  Hew has knitted up so quickly that I feel confident in tackling a bigger sweater project.  I was trying to find a simple raglan constructed sweater without a lot of bells and whistles - but it had to have a more open neckline.  Unfortunately, I have yet to find that and lack the confidence to alter another pattern to suit, but I did find the Waiting for Spring Sweater and I absolutely love this design.  I'm hopefully going to go pick up yarn and needles to get started on it tomorrow.  I'm not thrilled that it's worked flat in pieces, blocked, then sewn together but I'll just have to accept that and move on.  Damn purl stitches.

Another Meandering Vines Skirt

I'm absolutely enamored with this pattern.  I drafted it from my measurements and it fits perfectly, right above my hips.  And it's super-easy to make: one zipper, two seams, facing and hem.  

Granny would be so proud!

It's exactly the perfect length in my opinion.  I made this skirt almost exclusively to match those shoes.

Meandering Vines and Mara after blocking

Today has been a pretty productive day.  Mara was finished blocking and looks lovely.  I set out to make the Meandering Vines skirt, which is basically a fitted A-line skirt from Sew What! Skirts.  I think it turned out quite well.  I'm planning on wearing it when Lee and I go up to visit his family later this evening.

Even though I'm capable of setting in zippers, I hate it and I'm not terribly good at it.  This is probably my best one so far.

 

Mara!  I definitely need to invest in some blocking wires so I don't end up with those little scallops.
